From a Sokan Ohki Ceramics Exhibition

At Ryukakuen-an,
an exhibition of ceramic works fired in kilns in Oregon, USA, was held by the head priest and fellow disciple Oki Sokan.

This exhibition was organized by Oki Sokan, the head priest of Ryobozenan USA, a temple
of the same sect as Ota , to raise funds to build a Japanese culture training center focusing on Zen and tea ceremony , as well as accommodation facilities for the development of young people .
The exhibition was held in two locations, the main hall and the reception hall.
During the exhibition period, people associated with Ryukakuen-an visited.
The kiln is on the banks of the Colorado River.
The kiln was finally completed after many failures. It took three days from firing
to raise the temperature to 1300°C and maintain it for more than 10 hours . The local clay is heavy, so if you mix it with coffee grounds, they will fly away during the firing process, making it lighter.
