The things that look like new around the mouth are covered in glaze, so I think they are kiln scratches.

▽Biography of the artist
Born in Tokyo in 1949.
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1976, majoring in Japanese painting.
Completed the Graduate School of Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1978.
1981 The 11th generation Saka Komazaemon passed away on January 13th. He passed away at the age of 69.
In 1982, he married Motoko Saka, the daughter of the 11th generation Saka Komazaemon, and adopted him.
In 1983, completed the ceramics training course at the Kyoto Industrial Research Institute.
Started making pottery in 1984 in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
In 1987, he assumed the name of Komazaemon Saka the 12th.
In 1994, he became a regular member of the Japan Kogei Association.
He passed away in 2004. He passed away at the age of 54.
